This collective and liberating ritual unfolds like an ancient spell, combining traditional Abruzzo songs with the evocative dances of skilled dancers.
On this magical night, the old women’s dresses, sewn by skilful hands, tell stories of remote times, imbued with the smells of the surrounding nature. The Night of the Snakes is not just an event, but a journey through time, inspired by the cult of St Dominic and the Goddess Angizia, celebrating the snake as an ancestral and spiritual symbol.

The songs of the shepherds alternate with the songs of the fishermen and workers of the land, evoking toil and hope. These songs have the same function as blues and spirituals for the cotton field workers in America: to exorcise the fear of death and fatigue, turning into prayers of salvation and songs of hope.
Vivid colours, evocative images and piercing sounds are reflected on the waves of the sea, creating a unique atmosphere. The Night of the Serpents is a symphony of emotions, a mosaic of tradition and modernity, where every reflection on the water tells a story, every song evokes a memory, and every dance celebrates life itself. An event to live, an experience to cherish, a journey into the ancient heart of Italy.
